SUMMARY:Hieroglyphs: Create a Cartouche!
DESCRIPTION:One of the oldest writing systems in the world\, Egyptian hieroglyphics date back over 5\,000 years. Using these images\, we will be creating cartouches just like the ones the ancient Egyptians used to enclose the names of their pharaohs. There will also be secret messages in hieroglyphics for patrons to decode for an additional challenge. This program is open to patrons age 9 and up.

SUMMARY:Tie Dye Party
DESCRIPTION:Drop in between 3-4:30pm to twist\, bind\, and dye your way to unique\, wearable works of art during Brownell’s annual tie dye party. Bring your own t-shirt if you are able\, pre-washed\, 100% cotton works best; we will also have some shirts on hand just in case. Participants will learn some basic tie dye techniques\, or try their own approach. Dyed shirts will be sent home in a plastic bag with instructions for completing the project. This event is open to all ages\, while supplies last. Young children will need adult help.

When you get there\, you find out that you’re actually traveling back in time and have to use survival skills and your knowledge of the location of the plates in order to survive and return to current time. You only have 40 minutes to use your knowledge and the clues provided to return to the current time or you will be stuck in the time of the dinosaurs…forever.
