Diversify Your Reading Challenge*

This school year we are challenging readers of all ages to liven up their reading with diverse books! Why? Because the world is a complicated, beautiful place, filled with all kinds of people living all kinds of lives. The more we read about those lives and learn about the diverse experiences of people in our community, state, country, and world, the stronger our relationships will be with each other and with ourselves. Diverse books provide opportunities to learn about the world, to build empathy, and to navigate differences. They can be entry points for important family conversations, AND of course, they’re fun to read!

A new reading challenge will be announced on Facebook and in our Event Calendar at the start of each month.  Participants can submit the titles and challenges met to win a prize (to be announced).

Green Mountain Book Award Book Club*

Each month high school aged students discuss one of the Green Mountain Book Award nominees chosen by the group. Among other things, we will engage in lively discussion about what you like and don't like, what themes you notice, and how what you're reading reflects and comments upon our society at large. Voting takes place at our last meeting in March.

Third Wednesday of the month, October through March, 3:30-4:30
